Sunday School Graduation 2009Carolyn Keamy, Sunday School Director, presented certificates to each Sunday School student to mark the completion of the 2008-2009 year. She thanked the parents and teachers for their support and willingness to encourage the children of the parish participate in the Christian Education program. Carolyn also announced the recipients of the Larry Erban Scholarship, Rosemary Boshar and Nicole Awad. Nicole, the president of the parish Teen SOYO, will also have her name on a plaque in the chapel as the recipient of the Margaret Richards Award. Each high school graduate also receives a copy of the Orthodox Study Bible. In the near future, the parish will post a brief biography of both Larry Erban and Margaret Richards. We also will ask that parishioners contribute to the funds so the awards can continue into future years. A new scholarship has been named, the R. Yvonne Keamy Scholarship, to be awarded to a parishioner who has completed his/her freshman year in college and will be a sophomore in good standing in the Fall. This scholarship will be given in June. |
